She’s back for a second time around for Miss Thang’s Miracles, to assist Bermuda’s seniors in need at Christmas.
The community oriented initiative was launched on her morning radio show on Power 95 last year.
Last Monday (Nov 8), she announced that she’s doing it all over again this year, only this time, she has launched her own website, to make the nomination and donation process a lot easier.
When contacted by Bermuda Real, the popular morning radio host said: “Last year we blessed 300 famlies with Miracle Hampers along with BELCO, grocery and pharmacy vouchers.
“Delivering the hampers last year was definitely an emotional but rewarding experience.
“I cannot take the credit as God told me that I needed to feed our seniors,” she added. “One day I came home and I told my family that God told me what I must do and their answer was simple, “If God told you, then you must do it”! I honestly did not understand it but I knew it was something I had to do.
“All of our seniors were happy, very thankful and many cried.
Donations stored at The First Church Of God last year“The emotional part for me was to see the conditions of how many of our seniors were living. With a no judgement approach, I along with our Miracle Team we knew that Miss Thang’s Miracles wouldl be a staple for years to come in our community.”
This time around, they are not just looking for nominations and/or donations, as countless seniors continue to struggle to make ends meet in Bermuda’s ailing economy.
This year, Miss Thang’s Mircale Team will be looking for residents and businesses alike to ‘Adopt-A-Senior For Christmas’, and/or provide them with assistance on various levels throughout the year.
All nominations to Adopt-A-Senior or Nominate A Senior mut be made though her new website at www.missthangbda.com.
“All nominations must be in by November 29th at 5pm,” she said.
“Once we have closed, I will be contacting all the Adoptees and provide them with their senior along with their needs, wants and special requests.
“After you have your senior, you can start your shopping.
“In the weeks to come, I will provide everyone with a secure drop off location, dates and times.
“All gifts must be wrapped with their Seniors last name on it upon delivery. And yes, this is a surprise for all seniors in need.
“Individuals who do not wish to adopt but still want to donate,can drop off ALL vouchers to POWER 95 at Bermuda Broadcasting Company from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with my name on it.”
